This policy brief describes qualitative research conducted in three rural Bangladeshi villages between 2001 and 2003.
This study compares the effectiveness of audio computer-assisted self-interviewing (Audio-CASI) with face-to-face interviews and self-administered questionnaires in collecting sensitive information on risky sexual and other behaviors among young men in urban India.
According to this brief, youth infected with HIV need medical, psychological, and social support, but programs rarely address their specific needs, even as antiretroviral drugs and HIV testing become more available.
Objectives: To determine the prevalence of HIV infection, HIV risk factors, and exposure to national HIV prevention programs, and to identify factors associated with HIV infection among South African youth, aged 15–24 years. Design: A cross-sectional, nationally representative, household survey.
