Higher education science and curricular reforms: African universities responding to HIV and AIDS. In-country training report Kenya, held at the Kenya Institute of Education (KIE), 8th-10th May 2007

The three-day Workshop was a follow-up of the international workshop held in Nairobi, Kenya in April 2006. It brought together sixty three Deans of Faculties of Science and Engineering and Coordinators of AIDS Control Units (ACU) from eleven Kenyan public and Private universities.

For children affected by HIV and AIDS, the risks of poverty and loss of livelihood are compounded by the risk of losing family care - their first line of protection. While cash transfers alone are not the solution, they can be an important element of an overall care package for children.
