The materials in this package are designed to support the Ministry of Education's Primary Curriculum Blueprint. It is the stated goal of the Blueprint to build an education system that "nurtures, promotes and sustains skills that will enable young Batswana to meaningfully participate in nation building". These materials are designed to contribute to this goal. The materials in this package are tools in the battle against new HIV infection and are the foundation of a larger strategy that begins with Standard One and continues through to Form Five and uses participatory methods to achieve skills-based health education. Specifically, the objective is to impart knowledge, develop healthy attitudes, and instil skills for healthy decision making. The messages and skills will be reinforced over the 12-year span of the school career.
