This is a report on the Regional Training Workshop on "Preventive Education Against HIV/AIDS in the School Setting" held from 18 to 23 October 1999 in Quezon City, Philippines. Funding support was provided by the Government of Japan.

Zambia is currently experiencing one of the worst HIV/AIDS epidemics in the world, one result being that between one-third and one-quarter of the children aged below 15 have lost one or both parents.

The Intercountry Consultation on Development of Strategies for Adolescent Health for South-East Asia Region of WHO was held from 26-29 May 1998 in New Delhi, India.

This paper focuses on adolescent reproductive health in the ESCAP region. It is divided into five sections: Section 1. Introduction; Section 2. Adolescent reproductive health in Asia and the Pacific; Section 3. Current adolescent reproductive health programmes in the region; Section 4.

In Africa, men play key roles in reproductive health - as individuals, family members, community decision-makers, and national leaders. Most reproductive health care, however, focuses on women.

This was the first UNICEF in-house capacity building workshop on the subject of adoption. It was neccesitated by the situation in UNICEF offices in all regions where abusive and illegal practices on adoption of children internationally have been alleged or proven.
