This book is designed to help you train student teachers in HIV/AIDS and reproductive health. These are important and challenging subjects for teachers.

Papua New Guinean primary school students need to know about HIV, STIs, sex and reproductive health to protect themselves and others.

Since 2007 all pre-service teachers have had a compulsory and comprehensive training course in HIV&AIDS and sexual reproductive health. HIV&AIDS is also a compulsory part of all school and cluster TIPs and every School Learning Improvement Plan (SLIP).

This framework sets a standard for training providers and in-service coordinators to help plan, deliver and evaluate training in HIV/AIDS, STIs, reproductive health, peer education and life skills.
