Pupil wellbeing and persistent absence: understanding the views of pupils, parents and carers and school staff

The aims of this study are: to explore views about the nature of any relationship between pupil wellbeing and school attendance; to understand other factors that may have affected school attendance since the Covid-19 pandemic; to investigate views about the range of support approaches offered by schools, and their perceived effectiveness in enabling persistently absent pupils to attend school.
