This report is a comprehensive review of Irish literature, policy and documentation on the handling of transphobia and transphobic incidents in an Irish context. It assesses what methods have been used to document and deal with such incidents at government and non-governmental levels, if any. The review looks to European models of policy and best practice and contextualises them within the Irish social, cultural and economic situation. The recommendations seek to inform policy proposals in the documenting and recording of transphobic incidents, but also, very importantly, to inform policy makers about the unique experiences of transgender people in Ireland.
