The Pacific School Food Talanoa was held in Nadi, Fiji from 2–4 June 2026 and brought together more than 100 participants from 16 countries (Annex 1), including representatives from governments, schools, communities, civil society organisations, academia, development partners and the private sector. Convened by the Pacific School Food Network, the Talanoa provided a platform for sharing knowledge, stories and experiences through Talanoa, strengthening partnerships and identifying practical pathways to improve school food environments across the Pacific. Discussions explored the role of school food environments in supporting nutrition, health, education, culture, food sovereignty, climate resilience and sustainable development. This Declaration was developed through a participatory process informed by presentations, workshops, group discussions and country and organisational planning activities undertaken throughout the Talanoa. It reflects the shared priorities, aspirations and commitments of participants and is intended to serve as a shared regional framework for advocacy, collaboration and collective action to strengthen school food environments across the Pacific. Following its development through the Talanoa process, the Declaration was reviewed and ratified by participants during the closing session of the Pacific School Food Talanoa, demonstrating a shared commitment to its vision, priorities and actions.
