This document is a learner-centered junior science syllabus that consists of three disciplines: Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Technology and Environmental aspects as well as the Population and Family life issues have also been incorporated into the above mentioned disciplines.
The curriculum and fact sheets provide girls and young women with important information on HIV/AIDS and sexual health; organized according to ages (10-12, 13-15, 15+).
Participants met in Harare to brief each other on the HIV/AIDS initiatives they are implementing in their regions and to discuss ways to increase collaboration and networking between UNESCO, UNESCO Cluster Offices and UNAIDS Inter-Country Team for Eastern and Southern Africa.

The purpose of this workshop was to share information on HIV and AIDS in the formal education sector in Mozambique.
Having instituted the HIV/AIDS education and prevention programmes in schools, the Ministry of Basic Education must now know and ascertain their utility and, justify their continuity and expansion to other regions. Or, verify their futility, and find ways to address and improve their delivery.
