Evidence shows that good quality Sex and Relationships Education (SRE) helps young people develop and manage their emotional and physical well-being.
This declaration is the conclusion of the special session on the response of the education sector to HIV & AIDS. It was written at the meeting of Ministers of Education of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, participating in a meeting in Roseau (Dominica), the 27th January 2007.
In June 2006 the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the government of Trinidad and Tobago hosted a high-level meeting of Ministers of Education and National AIDS Authorities from throughout the Caribbean Region, under the auspices of the CARICOM Council on Human and Social Development (COHSOD).
