The School Health Programme was established in 1986 by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in order to give an additional impetus to the health issues related to school children.
In the decade ahead, HIV/AIDS is expected to kill ten times more people than conflict. In conflict situations, children and young people are most at risk from both HIV/AIDS infection and violence.
This revised education of the booklet aims: to introduce to schools and teachers basic facts about blood-borne diseases and their prevention; to recommend precautionary measures for implementation by schools; and to suggest strategies and resources in teaching of blood-borne diseases in schools.<
