National policy on HIV/AIDS, for learners and educators in public schools, and students and educators in further education and training institutions

The South African Ministry of Education acknowledges the seriousness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on its citizens. This national policy shows the Ministry's commitment to minimise the social, economic and developmental consequences of HIV/AIDS to the education system, all learners, students and educators, and to provide leadership in the implementation of an HIV/AIDS policy. This policy seeks to contribute towards promoting effective prevention and care within the context of the public education system.
