The COVID-19 global pandemic has affected millions of children across almost every country. This has brought about an immeasurable disruption to children’s education and well-being. Schools across the globe have closed down, leaving over 1 billion students without access to education. As countries continue gradual reopening, UNICEF East Asia & Pacific Regional Office developed a snapshot to understand WASH protocols and minimum conditions as part of School Reopening call from UNICEF. It is encouraging to see that more and more countries in the region are preparing well for school reopening ensuring minimum WASH requirements in line with “10 minimum Actions” issued by the Global WASH in Schools (WinS) Network and complying to the global call to action on School Reopening.
