Relationships with FBOs are essential to community-based health work, but can be difficult to forge. Some religious traditions reject the use of contraception. Others may accept family planning within marriage, but do not feel condoms should be distributed to young unmarried people.
Through this Policy document, the KNUT seeks to set directions and chart out a roadmap for responding to the HIV and AIDS challenge, in improving the conditions of both the infected and affected members and union employees.

This document was written to follow up the exploratory studies undertaken by the Quality Education for Social Transformation (QUEST) programme in Kenya, Uganda and Zimbabwe.
