The AIDS epidemic is a threat to mankind's existence. Many institutions are confronted with the disease and do not know how to handle it and its related facets. They do not have clear policy guidelines on how to deal with HIV/AIDS and other related areas. The Mombasa Polytechnic is no exception and has risen to the challenge and made a deliberate effort to come up with and HIV/AIDS policy which is in line with the Kenya National HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan. The policy has four principle components:Rights and responsibilities of employees and students affected and infected by HIV/AIDSIntegration of HIV/AIDS in into the Polytechnic's programmes/activitiesProvision of preventive, care and support service in the polytechnicImplementation and review of this policy
