WaSH in Schools (WinS) Policy & Standards: 2024-2028

The WinS Policy & Standard (2024-2028) aims to see a significant increase in accessing safe water, good sanitation facilities and improved hygiene practices in schools. The Policy is aligned with the National WaSH Policy and it is to serve the purpose of meeting the education component of the policy target for schools. The standards deal specifically with water supply (water quality, quantity and access), sanitation (quality and access), hygiene promotion and menstrual hygiene management. They are designed for use in low-cost settings, where simple and affordable measures can significantly improve hygiene and health.
