The Kenya School Health Policy is a comprehensive framework developed by the Ministries of Education and Health to ensure a healthy, safe, and supportive learning environment that improves student enrollment, retention, and performance. The policy recognizes the importance of innovative health interventions in education. It seeks to a sustainable reduction of the impact of both communicable and non-communicable diseases; enhance values and life skills among learners; improve WASH facilities as well as school infrastructure in schools; meet the diverse nutrition and special needs of the learners; and mainstream gender issues in education and health systems.
