This tool addresses the urgent gap between children’s lived experiences of violence and the limited, often symbolic opportunities they have to shape safer school environments. It equips children, and the adults who support them, with participatory and protective approaches that are not only inclusive, but sustainable over time. The tool is designed for children aged 10–18, educators, facilitators, and child rights practitioners working together to create safe and inclusive schools. It also supports teachers and school staff to turn children’s input into action, and CARING 2.0 project teams to embed child-led approaches across schools and communities. When embedded into school systems, these approaches help ensure that children’s voices continue to shape safer, more inclusive environments long after a single project ends. The tool includes two core materials: From Principals to Practice: Conceptual Foundations and Implementation Guide and the Toolkit.
