Case Studies & Research
Association of Commonwealth Universities
2001
42 p.

This document is intended to act as a means of mobilising university leaders in our community against HIV/AIDS. It is designed to pose key questions to for institutional leaders and answer some others, i.e. what role can the university play? What impacts will the epidemic have on the university? How will it affect our teaching, research, outreach and operations? What should our priorities be and how can we define a response? While the first half of the document discusses the epidemic and its major impacts, the second provides an in-depth analysis of the four core functions of the university (teaching, management, research and outreach) and explores how they are affected by the epidemic.
