This document represents the first National Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy. The goal of the Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy is to find appropriate solution to the current fragmentation of reproductive health activities and improve the limited impact of existing programs in reducing sexual and reproductive ill health while improving reproductive health and well-being for the PNG population. This policy aims to encourage men’s involvement in sexual and reproductive health matters and address the increasing high-risk behaviour of adolescents leading to premarital sexual encounters, early marriage, unintended pregnancies, unsafe abortions and the social consequences such as school dropout with subsequent negative effects.
