This book orginated from the15th Biennial General Conference of Association of Asian Social Science Research Councils which was held at University House in the Australian National University, Canberra. This publication covers the issues, which confront youth and how they respond to them, have varied through time and place: from rural to urban and from country to country even from region to region. Part two covers the case studies of Asian youth (Australia, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, China, Philippines, Korea, Srilanka, Thailand, Viet Nam) on demographic transition, the levels of socio-economic development, cultural antecedents and the impact of globalization.
