Schools have been identified as one of the appropriate settings for addiction prevention since this is the place where pupils may come into contact with drugs for the first time and experiment with them, with the possibility of becoming addicted.
It is estimated that there are currently around 122,000 teachers in sub- Saharan Africa who are living with HIV, the vast majority of whom have not sought testing and do not know their HIV status.

Presently 50% of the adult population is illiterate in 17 of African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Madagascar, Mali, Mozambique, Niger, Senegal and Sierra-Leone).
The fight against HIV/AIDS requires resources and the purpose of this tool is to assist you in identifying financial and technical resources available to the education sector in Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Ghana.
