This report examines the impact of HIV/AIDS on the University of Namibia Community as well as its response to this impact. Starting with the situation of HIV/AIDS in the country, it then goes on to describe the University of Namibia and its own particular relationship with HIV/AIDS. Statistics of deaths among staff and students are provided, as is the information relating to the situation of absences due to prolonged illness. The general observation is that, though there may be few deaths to date, the full impact of the general HIV/AIDS situation will hit the University harder in the years to come.
