This report presents the findings of an evaluation of the Straight Talk (ST) mass media communication programs, which have been implemented in Uganda since 1993.

Universities, the site of intellectual excellence, should stand in the forefront in fighting social taboos, gender inequalities and other barriers against a general social mobilisation for lifesaving changes in sexual relations. On the whole, this mobilisation has not taken place.

The technical consultation brought together a range of different stakeholders including ministries of education, teachers' unions and HIV-positive teachers' networks from six countries: Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

In May 2006, Education International (EI) published ' Training for Life' a draft report aimed at establishing a clear picture on the record of governments in providing pre- and in-service training to teachers on HIV and AIDS.

Another way to learn is a UNESCO initiative that supports Non-Formal Education projects working around the world in Africa, South Asia, the Caribbean and Latin America.
