The objectives of this policy are to: increase knowledge and awarenss on HIV/AIDS and accepting its reality; reduce high risk behaviour that is likely to lead to infection or re-infection of HIV/AIDS; prevent information of STDs and facilitate treatment of infected persons; promote and provide voluntary counselling and testing; promote a supportive environment for all staff and students infected with HIV; decrease staff shortage levels; reduce the declining levels of enrolment and college completion rares; reduce absenteeism of staff and students; reduce financial constraints owing to increasing numbers of orphans; let the administration know about the services necessary to support the fight against the pandemic; encourage PLWAs to go public about their status.
