Drawing on an overview of research conducted for WHO's Department of HIV/AIDS, this paper outlines some of the issues that need to be addressed when working on HIV/AIDS prevention with young people. It offers: A summary of what is currently known about HIV/AIDS prevention among young people with an emphasis on contexts of special vulnerability; A framework for better understanding the inter-relationship between principles for success and the priority fields in which these might be applied; The identification of priority areas in which research needs to be conducted or synthesised so as to lay the foundations for a more effective response.
