The goal of this manual is to train teacher education in HIV/AIDS prevention and care. It is believed that effective education can contribute to the prevention and control of HIV/AIDS; this manual acts as an important tool for achieving this effectiveness. Contents are organized into 11 modules, covering the topics of adolescence, unplanned pregnancy and STIs, and multiple aspects of HIV/AIDS prevention and care. Various methods are suggested, and activities such as role play, brainstorming, group activities and surveys are included. The UNESCO Asia-Pacific Programme of Education for All (APPEAL) sought to develop this Training of Teachers (ToT) manual with the Southeast Asian Minitries of Education Organisation's Regional Network in Tropical Medicine and Public Health (SEAMEO-TROPMED) under the project funded by UNESCO and Japanese Fund-in Trust (JFIT).
