This document aims to clarify the position of the department of Education regarding learner pregnancies.

The purpose of the study was to document, review and critically analyse literature on teenage pregnancy with a focus on school-going adolescents.

Provinces and districts need to find ways to cope with the challenges of this epidemic. Provinces and districts will need to broaden their scope in order to cope. All planning processes will need to take into account the challenges of HIV and AIDS.

National Curriculum Statement Grades 10-12. Life Orientation Grade 11 Learner Workbook and Teacher Guide are two complementary documents developed by the Department of Education of Republic of South Africa in 2007.

This little book is about HIV, AIDS and Education. It has been written by the Department of Education for parents.

This book has been written as a guide for schools to help them to think about and manage the problems that HIV and AIDS bring. The book can help schools and their communities to use the national policy on HIV and AIDS and education to take local action.

This document was developed as part of a multi-media education programme (Soul Buddyz) which includes this book and a television/radio series. It is aimed at children from 8 to 14 years old. This book is designed as a classroom resource for use in grade seven.

The Revised National Curriculum Statement is not a new curriculum but a streamlining and strengthening of the Curriculum 2005.

The Conference on HIV/AIDS and the education sector - the Education Coalition against HIV/AIDS- was held from 31 May to 1 June 2002.

These guidelines are based on the National Policy on HIV/AIDS for Learners and Educators in Public Schools, and Students and Educators in Further Education and Training institutions of the Department of Education (South Africa).
