Comprehensive sexuality education is an important means of promoting sexual well-being amongst young people and is key to preventing sexually transmitted infections (STIs). However, sexuality education is not currently included in the formal curriculum in Italian schools.
In addition to recurring political instability problems and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, Madagascar is undergoing a severe episode of famine estimated to affect half a million children under 5, which compounds issues of malnutrition already widespread in the country.
IGLYO created an online survey that was translated into 15 different languages, with over 17.000 participants (aged between 13 and 24) completing the questionnaire. Complementary to the survey, IGLYO conducted 20 interviews to further explore the topic of inclusive education.
Comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) promotes young people’s healthy sexual decisions. This study assessed the level of provision of CSE in schools in ten sites in six Southern African countries from the perspectives of learners and teachers.
