Choices is written for young people between the ages of 10 and 24 years; for peer educators and youth leaders; for teachers, health care workers and parents and anyone who is helping young people to grow up as fulfilled and responsible human beings with a sexual and social life.
This handbook was developed to accompany the Life Skills Training Manuals used in Uganda.
The life orientation programme is designed for youth and adolescents with a view to equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed and healthy decisions.
The aim of the Life Skills Programme discussed in this book is to empower the youth with skills to help them make informed decisions regarding sexuality as a first and critical step to curbing HIV/STD infection.
This document is included in the Policy Brief prepared for the UNAIDS Inter- Agency Task Team on education (to be published soon) that provides a "global snapshot" of HIV/AIDS related education material for developing countries.
This education booklet is produced by Soul City under the multi-media health and development programme and is aimed at 12-18 year olds in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland.
