"The Main Thread" is produced by a governmental organisation: Lafa, the Stockholm County AIDS Prevention Programme; a regional knowledge and method centre working in the field of health and sexuality. This document is regarded as an interesting and stimulating tool for anyone wanting to work effectively and with commitment on preventing HIV, STIs and unwanted pregnancy among young people. The Main Thread is aimed at teachers, health and medical services staff, youth leaders and peer educators, who work with young people aged 13-19 in schools, youth clubs and youth clinics. Its aim is to facilitate sexuality education by presenting models and methods that pass on knowledge and skills, as well as, discussing attitudes and values. It includes over thirty practical methods, value clarification exercises and a number of more in-depth sections, which helps in providing greater insight into certain areas and to enhance one's knowledge.
