This review focuses on the major factors that drive HIV infection and explores interventions that have demonstrated effectiveness, as well as illustrating important learnings for programme development.
South Africa's first national, household sero-prevalence survey of HIV and AIDS was conducted in 2002. A second survey was completed in 2005 and this, the third, in 2008.
This review was commissioned by the Center for Communications Programs at Johns Hopkins University to provide insight into issues related to communication of HIV/AIDS to children in the 3-12 year age group, with an emphasis on South Africa.
