This report sets out findings of a research study designed to establish current levels of sex and relationships education (SRE) provision in further education (FE) and sixth form colleges. The findings relate to: a) the extent to which appropriate teaching materials are available and whether they are sufficiently comprehensive to help colleges deliver good SRE and are being accessed; b) the numbers of college staff receiving training, its nature and whether this is adequate to support good SRE; c) the nature of SRE provision for 16 to 19 year-olds in schools with sixth forms, and if there are approaches used in this setting that can be transferred to FE and sixth form colleges.
