The main objective of the MHPSS training manual is to standardize all efforts to build the capacity of school staff in integration of mental health and psychosocial support including early identification, offering appropriate basic support and linkage to other specialized service providers. Given the immense distress and other mental wellbeing challenges that teachers and learners face, this training manual focusses on teacher capacity and use of existing school structures especially the learner led clubs and peer to peer platforms. The manual is structured in a simplified format comprising of sections, modules, sessions and activities to facilitate effective discussion on topical wellbeing challenges in learning institutions. Each module gives an overview, learning competencies, activities, proposed methodologies, and instructions to facilitators.
