Improving health through schools: national and international strategies

This publication describes the different strategies implemented to improve health through schools. The chapters present the current health concerns among school-age children and adolescents, and the strategic responses of governments, national and international organizations to address health issues through schools. The main issues discussed in this document are as follows: 1) Health status of school-age children and adolescents; 2) Creating health through schools; 3) International strategies and efforts; 4) National strategies in ten of the world's most populous countries; 5) Collaborative efforts to strengthen school health promotion in countries with large school-age populations.
