The Intercountry Workshop on Networking and Partnership between Young People and Governments on HIV/AIDS Prevention for East and South-East Asian Countries was held in Bangkok from 18 to 22 March 2002. The Workshop was organized by the UNFPA Country Technical Services Team (CST) for East and South-East Asia in collaboration with the Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) and the UNAIDS/SEAPICT. The theme of the Workshop was "Adolescent Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS Prevention". The Workshop addressed four key areas (1) addressing the information needs of adolescents and youth; (2) provision of suitable gender sensitive and quality services; (3) participation of adolescents and youth in programmes intended for them; and (4) partnerships modalities in planning and implementation of programmes. The information contained in the report provides useful background material for designing country-specific programmes in HIV/AIDS prevention.
