This paper is one in a series of papers commissioned by the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNOHCHR) in Bangkok for an expert consultation meeting in March 2004. It looks at the impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on education from a human rights perspective. The paper also offers a conceptual framework to assess how HIV/AIDS has an impact on human rights and the education sector, and discusses directions for a future response.
