The Scaling Up Together We Can program is a PEPFAR-funded and USAID-supported 6+ year, $10+ million effort to reach more than 1,060,000 youth ages 10 to 24 with curriculum-based and peer-to-peer outreach, and interpersonal community wide events in Guyana, Haiti, and Tanzania.
In May 2006, Education International (EI) published ' Training for Life' a draft report aimed at establishing a clear picture on the record of governments in providing pre- and in-service training to teachers on HIV and AIDS.
In order to better meet the needs of teachers' representatives worldwide, EI and its partners decided to merge two key training programmes dealing with Education For All and HIV and AIDS prevention in schools. The two issues are inextricably linked.
This study does not address the level of implementation of HIV/AIDS education, but the framework and conditions set in policies and curricula for curriculum implementation.
