The aim of this assessment was to collect comprehensive information on health service delivery for young people in Higher and Tertiary Education Institutions (HTEIs) in Zambia compared to the existing International Youth-Friendly Service guidelines and standards, and to make recommendations for investment required for the health facilities to be fully functional and deliver services effectively. Guidelines, standards, and policies aiming to increase access to health care services for adolescents and young people do exist in Zambia. However, the existing guidelines are not comprehensive as they do not adequately align with the international standards. Some of the national guidelines were developed before WHO guidelines were suggested.
